UNISTER HELD A SEMINAR ON BULK MATERIALS PROCESSING AND EXTRUSION

On April 11, 2011, at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Sofia, Unister, with the media support of Engineering Review, the Bulgarian industry magazine, held a seminar on “Bulk Materials Processing and Extrusion”. “Organizing technical seminars is a worldwide practice for K-Tron,” said Alexander Yordanov, Unister’s manager. “The aim is to provide technical solutions for specific applications – in this case for the plastic and chemical, as well as the food and pharmaceutical industries,” he added.

Seminar topics included “Fundamentals of Bulk Materials Processing and Their Impact in Choosing Equipment”, “Pneumatic Transportation Technology. Product Overview”, “Dosing Technology. Product Overview”, “Two-Screw Mixing News”, “Extrusion of food with a twin screw extruder “and more.

Emphasis was placed on pneumatic conveying systems and extruders. The main types and characteristics of the bulk materials were considered, as well as the selection of appropriate pneumatic transport equipment and systems. Extruders for the same applications that work in conjunction with pneumatic conveying and bulk metering systems were also introduced to ensure efficiency and good quality.
During the presentations, various products and solutions were presented by the manufacturers K-Tron and Coperion.

“That was the significance of the event – to showcase the products of both companies to industry professionals as well as engineering firms,” said Unister’s manager. “We are pleased with the attendance. The feedback shows that the customers find the seminar useful, as this is an excellent opportunity to receive useful technical information in a concentrated manner,” he said.

“We will probably organize such seminars in the future as well,” Mr Yordanov said in conclusion.
